XPO

MISSION STATEMENT

The Purpose of Chi Rho Omicron shall be to promote the understanding, enrichment, and appreciation of the Pilipino Culture, History, and Heritage through a Brotherhood/Family Environment; to instill the desire for Self-Improvement, Scholastic Excellence, and the Cultivation for Civic Responsibility.

HISTORY

Our seven founding fathers felt a need in strengthening Pilipino unity by extinguishing the lines between regions, class levels, and language barriers through brotherhood. On February 16, 1995, this ideal brotherhood unifying Pilipino and non- Pilipino became a reality on the campus of the California State University at Fresno.

The elite brotherhood of Chi Rho Omicron (XPO) was first introduced at Long Beach on November 20, 2014. The Long Beach Chapter is the 9th chapter of this brotherhood.  Our chapter as well as our other chapters reach out to the community as a way of spreading Pilipino awareness and showing the Pilipino community support.  By holding our hands out to the public, we are not only supporting those in the community; we are helping ourselves.

Chi Rho Omicron prefers to label itself as a close-knit brotherhood rather than a typical fraternity.  Although the organization is limited to the state of California and numbers less than 700, this in turn ensures that all bros remain close and actually know one another.

While Chi Rho Omicron is a Pilipino-based Fraternity, the brotherhood welcomes all gentlemen from every different culture.  Current brothers originate from a mix of ethnic backgrounds ranging from: Latin-American, African-American, Indian, as well as other mainland Asian countries. XPO takes pride in its ability and flexibility to show interest in learning about other cultures as well as promoting the Philippine heritage.
